Acid-base balance is the amount of acids and alkalis in any liquid. It is presented in pH: the lower this index, the more acidic the internal enviroment.
How it concerns the organism?
The fact is that various liquids circulate inside the body: blood, lymph and intercellular substance.
They ensure the flow of biochemical reactions. But only if they have the correct pH, which should normally be alkaline.
For example, for blood, this index is about 7.45. Acid-base balance directly depends on what a person eats: there are acidic and alkaline foods. Very often, various ailments (chronic fatigue, headaches, poor skin condition) are associated with acidification of the body due to errors in the menu.
In an alkaline food system, all foods fall into two large groups:
Acid - meat, cottage cheese, cheese, milk, desserts, pastries, trans fats, white rice and wheat, legumes, eggs, black tea, soda, alcohol.
Alkaline - vegetables, some cereals, fruits, honey, vegetable oils, whole grains, goat cheese, buttermilk, herbal and green teas, almonds, coconut.
In the modern world, people use acidic food intensively, eat meat every day, replace natural food with fast food, and abuse sweet foods. Because of this, mankind is confronted with the diseases of civilization: metabolic disorders, obesity, diabetes, oncology.
To normalize the acid-base balance in the body is very simple - it is enough to reduce the number of acid products in the menu and increase the proportion of alkaline.
